Crude oil prices hit a two year high, with MCX prices trading at 3,835 levels. Natural Gas witnessed volatility in today’s trade. It gave a gap up opening and prices were trading at 4% higher at 177 levels.
Gold: Gold prices edged down on Wednesday, lingering just below a 3-week high hit in the previous session, as the dollar kept steady and equities firmed. Spot gold fell 0.1% to USD 1,281.71 an ounce after hitting its peak since December 1 at USD 1,283.72 in the previous session.
Silver: In other precious metals, silver fell 0.2% to USD 16.50 per ounce after earlier touching its best since late November at USD 16.56. Platinum edged up 0.2% to USD 920.10, while palladium rose 0.4% to its highest since Feb, 2001 at USD 1,055.50 per ounce.
Equities kept firm on Wednesday, driven by commodity and energy-connected shares around Asia.
