Prices of Jeera & Turmeric, the common spice, were trading up by Rs.100/quintal at the wholesale kirana market in the New Delhi, Tuesday, mostly aided by increased buying by retailers & stockists in spite of low stocks. Trend stability in futures market and controlled supplies in the domestic market also fuelled the uptrend. Turmeric traded up by Rs.100 to conclude at Rs 9000 to 12200 per quintal.
Meantime, Jeera common & best quality also rose by Rs 100 each. The common quality Jeera rose at Rs 21,300 to 21,400 and the best quality to Rs 23,700 to 24,200 per quintal. Buying support from the retailers as well as stockists against drop in supplies from producing belts, basically pushed up the price of turmeric and jeera.
