Cardamom prices were down on MCX on Wednesday, extending its negative cues for spot market, as speculators continued to trim positions owing to slackened demand in the spot market.
December delivery contract for was trading at Rs 965.00, down by 1.48 percent or Rs 14.50 from its last closing of Rs 979.50, while the open interest (OE) of the contract stood at 64 lots.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in January traded lower at 1050.10, down by 0.96 percent or Rs. 10.20 from its last closing of 1060.30.
The offloading of positions by participants on the back of slow-moving demand in the spot market against sufficient stocks position mainly kept cardamom prices lower at futures trade.
